The North Dakota Horse Park is situated in the city of Fargo and offers a month racing annually. Fargo, with a population of over 123,000, is the most populated city in North Dakota and boasts a rich history having been founded in 1871. The track is a part of an unofficial racing circuit which also includes the Chippewa Downs based in Belcourt, Fort Pierre in South Dakota which races in April, and Aberdeen in South Dakota which races in May. The North Dakota season starts in late July and continues into August, and this enables North Dakota racing enthusiasts to enjoy their sport for 3 months of the year, switching to the States other tracks, including Chippewa Downs in June. Racing at North Dakota Horse Park is administered by the Outdoor Recreation Development Association (ORDA).
